I have to be honest. My heart aches because of the recent supreme court ruling concerning marriage. I know what God's word says. Marriage is between one man and one woman. Not two men, two women, one man and three women. You get the idea. Even more distressing is the continued sacrifice of the unborn in the name of convenience. I could go on and on.
I feel so helpless when I watch my nation going in a direction not based on Biblical truths. The atrocities with the IRS, our president's congratulations to a sports star who announced he was gay, our president heading off to Africa when our nation needs direction. How can our government thumb its nose in the face of God and get by with it?
I looked into the Bible to try and put things into perspective. Asaph in Psalms 73 says speaking of those who don't keep God's laws, "Those who are far from you will perish; you destroy all who are unfaithful to you." v. 27. Maybe not today, but just as the seasons slowly change, so God's plan will prevail eventually.
Jeremiah asks in chapter 12, "Why does the way of the wicked proper? Why do all the faithless live at ease? Isaiah makes an interesting statement in chapter 40. "All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field. The grass withers and the flowers fall, because the breath of the Lord blows on them. The word of the Lord stand forever."
Our nation is on a slippery slope falling away from God. But in the end, God's purpose will stand. "I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please." Isaiah 46: 10. Despite a government that's abandoning God, His principles will prevail.
